Nova Scotia · Provincial Park
Overview
Cape Chignecto is Nova Scotia’s great Fundy wilderness park: red cliffs, deep coves, and the world’s highest tides working at their feet. It is the province’s backcountry showcase — a park you walk for days, not hours.
Trails
The park’s signature route is a 52 km coastal loop rated Difficult in the province’s own words. Difficulty here describes the terrain — cliff paths, climbs, and tide-aware sections — not a fitness score.
Camping
Camping includes backcountry sites and cabins. 2026 provincial price list: cabin CAD 58.90 per night; unserviced campsite CAD 26.50 per night, serviced campsite CAD 35.30 per night; reservation fee CAD 8.95. Confirm current prices on Nova Scotia Provincial Parks when you book.
Alerts
Cliff edges along the Fundy coast erode — stay behind fences and railings. During wildfire season (March 15 to October 15), burn rules are set daily; campfires are banned from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Indigenous & Culture
This park stands in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
