Newfoundland and Labrador · Provincial Park (Labrador)
Overview
Pinware River is Labrador’s only camping park — the one ParksNL campground on the Labrador side of the Strait of Belle Isle. The Pinware River meets a cold northern sea here; it is a Labrador trip, with Labrador distances, and it rewards the travellers who plan it that way.
Trails
The walking here is river and shore walking — short routes, big weather. Plan for conditions, not distance.
Camping
Pinware River is one of ParksNL’s 13 camping parks. 2026 provincial rates: unserviced campsite CAD 20.15 per night, serviced campsite CAD 30.90 per night, reservation fee CAD 7. Confirm current rates and season dates on ParksNL when you book.
Alerts
Labrador distances are long and services are few. Fuel, food, and ferry or highway timing are part of the trip plan, and weather on the strait changes fast.
Indigenous & Culture
The lands and waters of Newfoundland and Labrador are the homelands of distinct peoples: the Beothuk, historically; the Mi’kmaq; the Innu of Nitassinan; the Inuit of Nunatsiavut; and NunatuKavut.
